Temperatures and sunshine
November tips into the mild Moroccan winter. Afternoons stay pleasant at 20-26 °C, but evenings cool quickly after sunset, around 5:30 pm. Rain (30 mm on average) becomes more frequent, often as showers followed by very clear skies, and snow returns to the Atlas peaks late in the month.
Things to do in November
A great month for walking: medina, souks, the Palmeraie and Atlas hikes on clear days. Sunsets in the Agafay Desert are superb, but bring a warm jacket for the evening. In Essaouira the ocean is still around 20 °C.
The film festival
The Marrakech International Film Festival is usually held in late November or early December (20-28 November in 2026), with a red carpet at the Palais des Congrès and public screenings on Jemaa el-Fna square. Hotels are in higher demand during the festival.
Good to know
Two public holidays: 6 November (Green March) and 18 November (Independence Day). Outside half-term, crowds and prices drop: excellent value.
